Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
  • 4+ years of document control or records management experience supporting construction projects.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, potential change orders, meeting minutes, drawings, correspondence, and contract documents.
  • Working knowledge of construction terminology and project delivery processes.
  • Experience supporting construction managers, inspectors, engineers, contractors, and field personnel.
  • Hands-on experience managing and tracking Potential Change Orders (PCOs), Change Orders (COs), contract modifications, and construction scope changes.
  • Experience maintaining change order logs, tracking approvals, routing documents, and ensuring version control.
  • Experience supporting RFIs, submittals, change requests, schedule impacts, and cost impacts related to change orders.
  • Knowledge of how change orders affect budgets, schedules, compliance, claims avoidance, and project closeout.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Strong SharePoint experience.
  • Experience with e-Builder, Procore, Prolog, Constructware, Expedition, Bluebeam, or similar construction document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project documentation repositories, logs, trackers, templates, and SharePoint sites.
  • Ensure document distribution, access, retrieval, and record integrity.
  • Maintain dashboards, KPIs, workload trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, SOPs, workflows, and training materials.
  • Train project personnel on document control procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and stakeholders.

About Your Role

CMTS is seeking a Document Control Specialist with a strong background supporting construction, engineering, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects. This is not a general administrative document control position. Candidates must have experience managing construction project documentation and working with project teams in a construction environment.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary
  • $30.00 per hour

Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, and other job-related factors.

A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
