The role involves safely loading and unloading freight, using forklifts and pallet jacks, and verifying documentation across electronic and manual systems. Qualifications

• English proficiency is required for safety and communication.
• Experience operating forklift or other material handling equipment is preferred.
• Prior warehousing, freight, or logistics experience is advantageous.
• Ability to operate equipment safely following company and government rules.
• Willingness to read/write and follow documentation in English.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or pallet jack.
• Stage, secure, and inspect freight inside trailers for safe transport.
• Use document management systems to track freight locations throughout the terminal.
• Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers to coordinate loads.
• Maintain flexible schedule including day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Provide customer‑service oriented support to ensure accuracy and on‑time delivery.

Job description

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a full-time Inbound Dockworker to join our team in Southington, CT. This role is responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

• Earn $24.30 per hour + .70 shift differential. Rate will increase to $29.00 + .70 shift differential hourly rate after 12 months of employment

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred

Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment - forklift or electric pallet jack
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
• Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
• Operating with a customer service first mentality
