Job summary

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a full-time Inbound Dockworker to join our team in Saco, ME. This role involves safely transporting freight on and off trailers and verifying documentation in electronic and manual systems. Forklift experience is preferred and English communication is essential.

Starting pay is $24.25 per hour with a scheduled raise to $29.05 after 12 months. Start time is 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with weekly pay and overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience in warehousing, freight or logistics preferred.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and follow safety rules.
  • Reading, writing and speaking English; ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or pallet jack.
  • Select, stage, and secure freight inside trailers for safe transport.
  • Use document management systems to track shipments and locations.
  • Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including day/night shifts, weekends/holidays.
  • Operate with a customer service mindset.

Job description

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a full-time Inbound Dockworker to join our team in Saco, ME. This role is responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Why Pyle?

Earn $24.25 hourly rate ($23.55 + $.70 shift differential). Rate will increase to $29.05 hourly rate after 12 months of employment.

Start time & schedule: 3:00 AM; Monday through Friday.

Weekly pay every Friday via direct deposit – overtime after 40 hours.

Dockworker qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
  • Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all company and government safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively
Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment – forklift or electric pallet jack
  • Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
  • Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
  • Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
  • Operating with a customer service first mentality
