Matura Farrington, a well-established law firm in Los Angeles, seeks an experienced Calendar & Docketing Clerk to maintain litigation calendars, compute court deadlines, and keep attorneys informed of key dates across matters. This is a fully onsite role.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of law firm docketing or calendaring experience, solid knowledge of court rules, and meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency with docketing software, with CompuLaw preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of law firm experience, preferably in litigation calendaring.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, appellate and local court rules.
  • Experience with legal calendaring/docketing software; CompuLaw preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and calendar deadlines for matters in state, federal, appellate, and administrative courts and agencies.
  • Review court filings, notices, correspondence, e-filings, and other case-related materials to identify and record applicable deadlines.
  • Enter, revise, and maintain deadlines, hearings, and other key dates within the firm's docketing/calendaring system.
  • Monitor case information and attorney assignments to ensure calendar records remain accurate and current.
  • Prepare and distribute calendar, hearing, and deadline reports to attorneys and legal support teams.
  • Respond to questions from attorneys and staff regarding deadlines, court dates, and docketing information.
  • Research court rules and procedures using state and federal court resources as needed.
  • Perform quality-control checks to ensure deadlines and calendar entries are complete and accurate.
  • Assist with additional docketing and administrative responsibilities based on departmental needs.

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Calendar & Docketing Clerk to join its team. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate litigation calendars, calculating court deadlines, and ensuring attorneys and legal staff are kept informed of important dates across active matters.

The ideal candidate will have prior law firm docketing or calendaring experience, strong knowledge of court rules and litigation procedures, and exceptional attention to detail. This is a fully onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with legal calendaring or docketing software; CompuLaw experience is preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys, legal assistants, and other administrative professionals.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
Position Requirements
  • This position is fully onsite and requires regular in-office attendance.
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with occasional overtime based on workload.
  • Ability to perform computer-based work for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Role may involve periodic standing, walking, bending, and handling of files or office materials.
