Job Description

A mid-size Chicago law firm is seeking a full-time Docket Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self‑starter with a high level of attention to detail, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work well in a team, and independently follow through on tasks from start to finish with minimal direction. This position will involve assisting the docket department and the firm’s docket needs for our busy attorneys. Responsibilities include saving and processing court documents, scanning and copying case‑related documents, assigning trial dates, and handling other overflow assignments as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Track, save and process court filings on court electronic docket websites.
  • Administer the firm’s docket database, including entering case-related information into data fields within the case management software, sending to‑dos and emails to attorneys, calendaring hearings, depositions, trial dates, etc.
  • Help schedule upcoming hearings and coordinate coverage.
  • Assist the docket specialists with tasks related to opening and closing of cases and new client transfers.
  • Make occasional trips to nearby courts.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent law firm experience.

  • Must be detail‑oriented and possess high organizational and time‑management skills.

Compensation and Benefits Overview

Salary: $52,500‑$60,000 (DOE). The pay offered for this role may vary based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligible employees may also receive bonus opportunities and other forms of compensation, contributing to a comprehensive total rewards package. Benefits offerings may differ based on location.
