Job summary

Newrest in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Transportation Dock Supervisor to lead the Dock Team, ensure daily operations run safely and efficiently, and align with SOPs and performance targets. You will supervise scheduling, training, and incident reporting while coordinating with the Dock Manager.

The role requires proven leadership in fast-paced environments, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to solve problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience in inflight catering, airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing employees
• Proven leadership in turnaround environments
• Strong communication with non-exempt to upper management levels
• Knowledge of OSHA, HR laws
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge
• Strategic thinker with problem solving and decision-making skills
• Self-starter with initiative
• Detail-oriented with big-picture focus
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Maintain weekly schedule and ensure coverage.
• Delegate duties to Leads for coverage needs.
• Oversee dock performance: staging, security checks, loading, and KDT times.
• Provide daily/weekly reporting on performance and metrics.
• Manage at-risk flights per SOP.
• Build and lead a safe, organized dock area.
• Hold daily team meetings and communicate updates.
• Identify improvement areas and develop action plans.
• Coordinate with departments to meet goals.
• Coach team on performance; conduct corrective actions.
• Ensure training and safety compliance.
• Promote Newrest values and professional conduct.
• Attend to other duties and maintain punctuality.
