Job summary

Forward Air Corp. in Baltimore, MD, seeks an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage and move freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE. You will scan and document cargo, follow procedures, and support dock operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid forklift certification, 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, and proficient English communication. Onsite role with daytime hours; compensation is $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Certification/Licensure: Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain) before operating equipment.
• Experience: 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately, and to perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading per safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
