Job summary

Comstock is seeking a Full-Time Dock Master for Reston, VA. The role focuses on coordinating truck activity, move-ins/outs, and maintaining security standards on the loading dock.

You will ensure smooth deliveries, supervise on-site movers, and uphold safety, cleanliness, and company policies while delivering first-class service to tenants and vendors.

The position requires attention to detail, strong multitasking, and the ability to work after hours or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of security or Dock Master experience
• Must be certified security officer in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland
• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer-service related field
• Valid driver's license without major violations
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed
• Outgoing personality with ability to relate to diverse groups and build relationships
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinate arrival and departure of moving trucks
• Schedule and monitor on-site movers for move-ins/outs
• Protect doors and floors during deliveries and moves
• Coordinate pickups/removal of bulk materials from loading dock
• Report incidents to property manager as needed
• Complete daily inspections and provide reports
• Maintain cleaning schedules with vendors
• Assist with tasks as assigned by property manager/engineering
• Promote company goals and values
• Address customer concerns professionally
• Ensure security officers are licensed for required state
• Plan and coordinate security operations for the property
• Maintain equipment through regular maintenance
