Qualifications

• 5+ years in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Operator certification is required.
• Proficiency with WMS and RF scanners; hands-on experience with Manhattan Active / SCALE is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of trailer weight distribution, cube optimization, and slip sheet loading.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying warehouse temperatures, and lift heavy items.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work under pressure to meet routing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train warehouse handlers, forklift operators, and dock clerks.
• Schedule and coordinate dock times for incoming and outgoing carriers.
• Direct the flow from packaging and staging to final truck loading.
• Inspect dock equipment and arrange repairs.
• Oversee loading/unloading to ensure accuracy.
• Verify shipment counts against Bills of Lading.
• Log movements using WMS or handheld scanners.
• Enforce routing guides to prevent vendor chargebacks and penalties.
• Serve as main contact for truck drivers and freight carriers on the dock.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies directly with drivers.
• Collaborate to optimize shipping/receiving schedules.
• Enforce OSHA and warehouse safety programs.
