Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster to lead daily dock activities, coordinate trailer movements, and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will partner with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute tasks while modeling accountability and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock-related equipment support.
• Serve as primary point of contact for loading/unloading dock activities.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow with fleet safety in mind.
• Monitor dock conditions and apply stop-work authority when unsafe.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and site SWIs.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards.
• Conduct visual inspections to identify risks or delays.
• Use MS Office 365 / Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
