Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a contract position in Independence, KY. You will safely load and unload freight, label shipments, and ensure accurate documentation in a modern dock and warehouse. Two shifts, with rotating schedules, apply to this role.

Candidates should have forklift experience, strong material handling skills, and the ability to read freight codes. The work emphasizes safety, organization, and reliability in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Proven forklift experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse.
• Hands-on equipment operation in freight handling.
• Strong material handling and labeling skills.
• Ability to read and interpret freight codes and docs.
• Attention to detail and safety-focused work area maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Load inbound and outbound freight safely to/from vehicles and containers.
• Unload and sort freight by size, type, and destination.
• Read, decode, and decipher freight codes to expedite movement.
• Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests for accurate records.
• Label freight clearly to support proper routing.
• Weigh and dimensionalize freight for accurate records.
• Document damaged or misrouted freight.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and follow safety procedures.
