Job summary

Pero Family Farms Company in Benton Harbor, MI is seeking a Dock Lead to oversee shipping/receiving activities on the dock. The role requires leading forklift teams, unloading/loading inbound and outbound trucks, and coordinating with the Shipping Office.

The position is full-time, onsite, and non-exempt, with availability for both AM and PM shifts. Candidates should have a high school diploma and dock experience; Spanish helpful and GMP/USDA familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or greater.
• 2+ years of dock experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with frequency.
• Frequent standing and mobility in warehouse.
• Knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
• Knowledge of forklift and computer systems is preferred.
• Basic mathematical and literacy skills.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock operations - receiving or outbound.
• Train new employees in receiving/outbound processes.
• Coordinate dock door assignments with Shipping Office.
• Prepare cartons for QC weight inspection.
• Coordinate staging and wrapping of pallets for shipment.
• Direct loading/unloading of palletized produce from trucks.
• Rotate products per QC/QA and Inventory Control instructions.
• Assist forklift drivers and stackers as necessary.
• Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks with training.
• Coordinate warehouse cleaning at end of shift.
• Follow PPE requirements and GMP/USDA/DOL standards.
