Job summary

Responsibilities include operating forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck; verifying freight documents; securing freight in trailers; assisting customers; and maintaining safety and compliance while working in a fast-paced dock environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights several times a week and open trailer doors with significant lift.
• Basic math and clear written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required and comply with laws and company policies.
