Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. The role requires operating forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, and verifying documentation matches freight description.

You will secure freight inside trailers, recoup or repair damaged freight, complete required reports, assist customers with freight paperwork, and perform hostling duties as needed. Hours: 0300–1100; starting pay: $26.41 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling is preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy freight and operate basic dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat) in the system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
