Job summary

Pier Sixty-Six invites dedicated, energetic hospitality enthusiasts to join our team as a Dock Attendant in Fort Lauderdale. You will welcome guests, assist with marina operations, tie up vessels and handle check-ins for guests and residence members while ensuring safety and first-rate service throughout the property.

Main responsibilities include responding to guest inquiries, fueling vessels, and performing related duties to maintain a smooth marina experience.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate golf carts.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Guest-facing position that is responsible for providing a warm welcome to guests.
  • Tie up vessels upon their arrival to marina.
  • Check guests in to the marina, and respond to guest needs during their stay.
  • Provide onsite customer service for residence, club members and transient marina guests as well as hotel guests.
  • Answer guests’ questions about the property or the surrounding area attractions.
  • Fuels vessels acting as PIC, contain and clean up any fuel spills which occur during fueling.
  • Attend annual fuel training.
  • Accept packages or arrange for deliveries to marina guests.
  • Drive golf cart in tight areas.
  • Provide pump-out to guests in the marina.
  • Patrol the docks, keeping in radio contact with the office and maintain safety standards.
  • Cast off lines for departing boats and notify office of departure.
  • Maintain and control ice inventory on each wharf, sell ice to customers, and notify office when supply gets low.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in hot, muggy, and inclement weather conditions on a continuous basis.
  • This position includes long periods of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
