Job summary

State of Oregon, Department of Transportation, Bend DMV is seeking a Transportation Services Representative 1 to assist the public with driver licenses, vehicle registrations, and permits. You will administer tests, collect fees, and provide policy information in a customer-focused role.

The position emphasizes privacy compliance, clear communication with diverse customers, and accurate data entry. Training is provided on laws, regulations, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Two years of public contact/customer service experience involving the public in person or by phone.

Responsibilities

• Help the public register vehicles and apply for permits.
• Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
• Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to answer complex questions.
• Produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
• Administer, correct and explain driver license tests.
• Conduct and interpret results of driver vision tests.
• Perform physical examinations of vehicles and verify VINs.
• Prepare daily bank deposits and account for sensitive inventory.
• Occasionally relieve other DMV offices within the region.
• May require standing for extended periods, irregular schedules and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Type at least 30 words per minute with high accuracy.
