This is a permanent full-time position for a Program Director - Diagnostic Medical Sonography Associate Degree program.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the structure and daily operation of the program, including organizations, administration, periodic review, and evaluation, continued development, and general effectiveness of program curricula.
- Ensure the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates/clinical education centers is maintained.
- Act as a liaison between the clinical agencies and the college maintaining open lines of communication with the Clinical Coordinator.
- Maintain and encourage valid evaluation of each student by clinical instructor, department managers, staff sonographers, and students.
- Ensure the program is viable and meets the standards of JRC-ERT.
- Maintain ARDMS and/or ARRT certification.
Qualifications
- Current or former DMS Program Director, Sonography Program Chair, Clinical Coordinator, Director of Clinical Education, or Lead Sonography Instructor
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS, ARDMS) with multiple specialties: Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Vascular (RVT), or Adult Echocardiography (RDCS)
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree (MSEd, MHA, or MS) preferred
- 2+ years of clinical sonography experience and 2+ years of teaching in a CAAHEP-accredited program
- Experience with CAAHEP and JRC-DMS accreditation, self-studies, site visits, and annual reports
- Experience with curriculum development, competency assessment, scan lab management, and clinical tracking systems (Trajecsys)
- Has built clinical affiliations with hospitals and imaging centers
- Has improved ARDMS SPI and specialty exam pass rates, retention, and job placement
- Experience with program budgeting, faculty hiring, scheduling, and advisory committees
- Career college, proprietary school, university, or community college background
- Open to relocating to Columbus, OH
- Bachelor's degree or higher (healthcare or related field preferred)
- ARDMS credentialed in AB & OB/GYN
- 2 years of clinical sonographer or radiographer experience in a healthcare facility
- 1 year experience teaching in an MA program
Schedule
- M-F, 40-hours per week
- Hours: 9a-5p (mix of hybrid, in-person, some remote)
- Location: Dublin, OH
- Salary: Pay is negotiable (based on candidates credentials, academic experience, practice experience, and degree)
