Job summary

Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a dedicated DME Specialist to manage intake, product selection, dispensing, and education for patients and caregivers. You will coordinate with clinicians and payers to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include patient counseling on coverage, guidance on device use, and maintaining compliance with billing and reimbursement rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Detail oriented with excellent documentation and follow-through.
• Basic knowledge of the medical field; prior home medical equipment experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Sanford Health driver requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ordering, dispensing and setup of DME products and services.
• Communicate with patients, referral sources, and clinicians to facilitate delivery.
• Process patient information, payer requirements, and prior authorizations.
• Educate patients on insurance, products, and usage; provide fitting and education.
• Balance cash drawer and maintain store cleanliness; may work after hours.
