Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a DME Service Coordinator for CPAP/BiPAP on the FHME team at University Crossing in Saint Paul. This onsite role is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours over 2 weeks) commitment, day shift, with no weekends. It also provides back‑up coverage for Edina, Burnsville, Woodbury, Maplewood, and Wyoming showrooms.

You will manage DME equipment setup, educate patients, coordinate with care teams, and ensure timely service and seamless insurance processing.

Qualifications

  • 2 years customer service experience
  • Basic Life Support (AHA/Red Cross) certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate care protocols and DME set-ups for Home Medical Equipment patients.
  • Manage inventory control processes with vendors and support services.
  • Maintain and track inventory while aligning with budget.
  • Educate patients on product information, use, maintenance and fitting.
  • Coordinate data management and analysis for DME.
  • Support claims processing and insurance coordination for DME care plans.

Job Overview

The DME Service Coordinator - CPAP/BiPAPhas direct responsibility for all aspects of the DME service delivery associated to Fairview Health Services operations. This position ensures: processes are in place to support exceptional customer experience, high quality therapeutic equipment is available and easy to understand and use, DME equipment and processes are effectively integrated into business and clinical operations, and all customers have an exceptional experience.

This onsite position is based at ourUniversity Crossing location at 2200 University Ave in Saint Paul. It's a 1.0 FTE (80 hours over 2 weeks) commitment, day shift only, with no weekends! This role also provides back up coverage for Edina, Burnsville, Woodbury, Maplewood and Wyoming showrooms. On rare occassions Princeton and River Falls.

As part of the Fairview system, this role if fully benefit eligible. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage. We encourage staff development and support continuing education.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and coordinates care protocols and DME set-ups for Home Medical Equipment patients.
  • Develops, implements, and manages inventory control process in collaboration with vendors and FV support services to ensure care plans are executed appropriately.
  • Maintains and tracks inventory
  • Ensures inventory costs are in line with departmental budget
  • Ensures patient care needs are served in a timely manner
  • Effectively set-up equipment and deliver patient education.
  • Educate patients on product information, use, and maintenance processes
  • Configure DME equipment and fit for appropriate accessories
  • Coordinates equipment data management and analysis
  • Develops and implements processes to support patient care in alignment with DME compliance data
  • Collaborates with care team to ensure care plans are supported with timely and accurate information
  • Provides timely and accurate compliance information to providers
  • Facilitates effective claim processing with DME aspects of care plan
  • Proactively contact patients to ensure exceptional service and equipment compliance
  • Supports patient insurance and/or financial securing processes as appropriate
  • Enable accurate claim process by aligning billing processes with insurance requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Partner and/or leader in quality improvement initiatives and community education events
  • Serves as technical expert in developing new services
  • Supports operational service needs to ensure care delivery
  • Ability to train additional staff for coverage when needed
  • Completes weekly retail deposits following Fairview’s cash handling procedures
Required Qualifications
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post High School education
  • 2 years in a direct patient care setting
  • Fitting DME/respiratory equipment
  • Polysomnography Technician (PSGT) and/or Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for DME Coordinator in sleep centers only
