Job summary

Benefis, Montana’s premier health system, is hiring for a customer-focused role in the DME/medical supplies space. You will greet customers, educate on equipment use, manage orders, and coordinate deliveries while ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic DME product knowledge, and experience in healthcare customer service. A high school diploma is required, with medical terminology certification preferred and CEU obligations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology course or certification preferred.
• One year of related healthcare, customer service, call center, or insurance experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, computer proficiency, and basic knowledge of durable medical equipment products.
• Requires five hours or CEU’s of approved continued education annually with emphasis on customer service, DMEPOS products, and/or EHR optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains knowledge of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, supplies, and payor regulations.
• Serves as the main liaison between the customer and the company, handling new and existing customer needs.
• Greets and assists walk-in customers, triage phone calls for order status inquiries, and provides education on proper use and care of medical equipment and supplies.
• Recommends complimentary products to ensure patient safety and promote functional independence.
• Resolves customer complaints regarding delivery or product malfunctions.
• Set up recurring deliveries as indicated for customers.
• Troubleshoot technical concerns with equipment.
