Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a DME Inventory technician to manage hospital-wide DME par levels, track equipment with RFID, and ensure devices are clean, functional, and safe for patient use.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment per AAMC standards, maintaining Biomed data, and coordinating with departments for DME needs. Requires hospital setting experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Enrollment in an accredited Bioengineering program/medical terminology experience
  • One year experience in a hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain RFID tracking system and batteries; update device information.
  • Use RFID tracking daily and run reports in Mednet system.
  • Receive DME needs via EPIC CLINCON; communicate with departmental personnel.
  • Collect broken equipment hospital-wide; return to central DME storage; replace with spares.
  • Manage DME inventory par levels hospital-wide and central storage location.
  • Inspect DME per AAMC Biomedical standards; ensure cleanliness, functionality and safety; collect data on maintenance and cleaning compliance.
  • Educate staff on basic DME functions.
  • Participate in large equipment projects (IV pump exchanges); unpack, tag assets, enter into inventory system; assist with delivery/exchange of new equipment.
  • Follow MOSHA, equipment, and manufacturer safety regulations; use PPE.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste per regulations; exposure to blood-borne pathogens expected.
