Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs is looking for a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator to coordinate DME needs across clinical settings and communicate with families and providers. This role emphasizes building workflows, securing equipment, and ensuring payer documentation is complete.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and at least one year of healthcare customer service experience; an Associate degree or higher can substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Equivalency: Associate or higher degree may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Liaises with patients, families, providers and internal and external parties to meet DME needs in clinical settings.
• Tracks, maintains, and orders DME products.
• Educates patients and families on DME options and expectations from the provider.
• Communicates and follows up with patients, families and community providers.
• Seeks to resolve issues and overcome barriers to care.
• Obtains all necessary documentation and authorization for payer requirements.
• Participates in departmental committees and projects as assigned.
