SUMMARY:

The VIP Host provides superior customer service, recruits and signs up new players on the casino floor and invites players to special events.

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 21 years of age
• 2 years as a Rewards Club Representative Or 2 years in a related field
• Experience in public speaking

Preferred:

• Strong working knowledge of player tracking systems

• Strong computer skills with experience in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets (ability to demonstrate proficiency)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, develop, and sustain the quality of working relationships with the casino guests.
• Sustains these relationships via personal invitations to private events, marketing, and other activities.
• Grow rated play, making reinvestment judgements based on casino play.
• Promote special activities by attending special events and participating when needed and via personal and telephone contact.
• Present the premier level of guest service by welcoming all casino guests individually and nicely with an optimistic, amiable, and cheery temperament.
• Attend to all guest queries as well as those of team members, offering solutions of customer complaints.
• Knowledge of all appropriate internal controls and reporting necessities.
• Be familiar with all marketing activities and all day-to-day dealings.
• Maintain inventory of casino supplies, provide information and explain to casino guests the property amenities and marketing programs, and Players Club benefits.
• A VIP host also assists in the enhancement and execution of special promotions and events.
• Greets non-enrolled slot players on an individual basis.
• Enrolls new players in the Rewards Club.
• Informs all slot players in the casino via periodic public address announcements and personal contact about the Rewards Club and its benefits.
• Interacts on the casino floor with Rewards Club members to answer questions about the club and to look for enrolled players who are not using their Rewards card.
• Interacts with both the Slot and Table Games departments to find our best customers, card them and be their contact person.
• Adheres to all regulatory, departmental and casino policy and procedures, and to the MICS.
• Maintains knowledge of all gaming machines, player tracking systems and promotions.
• Promotes positive public and team member relations at all times.
• Offers to help in other related duties at management request.
• Must adhere to the safety rules and regulations of Dakota Magic Casino and the Marketing department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to communicate using written, oral, and computer methods. Must be able to operate computer equipment (for extended periods of time). Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of excess of 8 hours. Must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for long periods of time. Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel. Must be able to push, pull, and grasp objects. Must have near sight, color vision and depth perception. Must have the ability to independently lift up to 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Office, gaming floor and restaurants, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume with direct public contact.
