Job summary

Dakota Magic Casino is seeking a Surveillance Shift Supervisor to oversee surveillance activities on the Swing Shift. This full-time, on-site role requires strong leadership and deep knowledge of gaming operations.

You will monitor both gaming and non-gaming areas, ensure compliance with Tribal, State and Federal rules, and mentor surveillance staff. Excellent communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous casino surveillance experience.
  • Confidentiality highly important.
  • One year casino surveillance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of all casino table games preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors all customer and employee activity in gaming and non-gaming areas.
  • Remains current on Tribal, State and Federal gaming rules and regulations.
  • Informs and submits reports to the Surveillance Manager for incidents, infractions and violations.
  • Evaluates internal procedures and offers solutions to vulnerable areas.
  • Assists in training, evaluating and counseling surveillance personnel.
  • In absence of the Surveillance Manager, oversees the Surveillance department during the shift.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Surveillance Manager.

Description

SUMMARY:

Observe and evaluate employee and customer activity in both gaming and non-gaming areas. Remain current on all Tribal, State and Federal gaming rules and regulations. Informs the Surveillance Manager and submits appropriate reports when incident, infractions and violations occur. Maintain company and departmental policies and procedures. Assist in the training, evaluation and counseling of surveillance personnel.

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous casino experience in surveillance
  • High level of confidentiality

Preferred:

  • One year Casino Surveillance experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all table games

Skills

Required:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games as well as cheating and embezzlement scams
  • A comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems

Abilities

Required:

  • Ability to operate computers
  • Ability to complete work on time with little to no supervision
  • Ability to handle possibly stress full situations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.

Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
