Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is seeking a Divisional Business Officer to oversee budget development, financial management, forecasting, and modeling for Athletics, ADCO, the Chancellor’s Office, and the Office of Finance & Strategy.

Reporting to the Budget Director, you will supervise two Unit Business Officers, analyze data and trends, and implement policies to align unit objectives with university strategy.

Qualifications

• At least two years of professional experience in budget development, financial management and human resources staffing support.
• Experience with basic accounting principles and financial data input and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience developing budgets for multiple units/departments; forecasting against budgets.
• Experience in higher education setting.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Knowledge of UW–Madison financial and HR systems and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists, advises staff on administrative issues, personnel matters, and budget problems.
• Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit and uses Workday for accounting, purchasing, and budgeting.
• Develops, schedules, and prioritizes unit or program work plans within specifications and resource limits.
• Supervises two Unit Business Officers (UBO) supporting Athletics and ADCO.
• Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and makes recommendations.
• Implements and enforces policies and procedures to align with unit objectives and university strategy.
