City of Houston's Public Works department seeks an experienced supervisor to manage infrastructure CIP projects, directing engineering and construction project administration, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
You will lead staff, develop policies and templates for project documents, draft contracts and amendments, and liaise with city departments, consultants, and contractors, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.

Supervise, coordinate, and manage a variety of engineering and construction project administration activities and resources necessary to implement City’s Infrastructure projects (drainage, paving, water and wastewater) under Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Provide guidance and training for administrative staff, contract administrators and project managers. Support and assist with responses to inquiries from other City of Houston departments, consultants, agencies, contractors and the public. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
This position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a field closely related to activities of the division.
Seven years of progressive professional experience closely related to the activities of the division are required, with at least three of the years in a supervisory capacity.
A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field closely related to the activities of the division may be substituted for two years of experience.
Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
