Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in Scarborough, ME seeks a Division Manager to oversee collection and post-collection operations, liaise with customers and vendors, and lead change initiatives that drive growth and durability of the Business Unit.

Responsibilities include implementing plans, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, managing budgets and staffing, negotiating contracts, and developing short- and long-term goals with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics or equivalent experience
• 10 years of experience in business or logistics or related field
• Leadership experience required
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations vital
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Implements and executes plans to complement the market area's strategic operation.
• Oversees safety and accident prevention programs to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Leads operations, establishes a proactive safety culture, maintains compliance with standards and regulations.
• Manages day-to-day operations, provides daily support to managers, ensures quality and budget performance.
• Oversees personnel needs including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating performance.
• Monitors budget and operating metrics, participates in P&L reviews, improves processes and costs.
• Develops short-term and long-term goals with leadership.
• Collaborates with maintenance and operations to ensure fleet/equipment is maintained per DOT/OSHA policies.
• Interacts with city, municipal, and county agencies to renew and negotiate contracts.
• Provides leadership and training opportunities to staff for growth and results.
• Complies with all company, state, and federal policies and safety laws.
