Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools is seeking a Division Gifted Coordinator to lead, implement, and monitor gifted programs across the division. This full-time, 12-month position will coordinate Governor's School processes, support advanced instruction, and strengthen gifted education through collaboration and data analysis.

The role serves as a primary contact for students, families, and staff, aligning program delivery with state regulations and annual reporting. Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• A valid Virginia teaching license is required.
• Gifted Education endorsement is required.
• PreK-12 Administration and Supervision Endorsement is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience providing specialized instructional services to gifted students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates high school application processes for Governor's School programs and related schools.
• Acts as liaison between students, families, schools, and external partners to support gifted programs.
• Supports Gifted Young Scholars Academy and related gifted services across the division.
• Leads K-12 gifted screening, identification, and placement and referral windows.
• Collaborates with Assessment, Research, and Evaluation to ensure eligibility accuracy in applications.
• Builds and analyzes gifted program data to inform eligibility and improvement.
• Coaches and co-plans with gifted resource and content teachers to strengthen advanced instruction.
• Delivers professional learning on gifted education and serving diverse learners.
