Grant County Schools seeks a Gifted and Talented Teacher to coordinate services for gifted students in grades K-12 and implement the district’s gifted curriculum with adherence to school policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and the Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.
• Ability to work effectively with students, peers, and adults.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates services for gifted and talented students in grades K-12.
• Uses effective instructional/assessment techniques.
• Ensures students are on task during the lesson/activity.
• Follows the gifted and talented curriculum to the academic expectations as determined by school policy.
• Facilitates, implements, and monitors Gifted Student Service Plans for individual students.
• Demonstrates innovation in the classroom.
• Plans and prepares for instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Coordinates identification and placement of gifted students.
• Promotes understanding of gifted education for students, staff, and families.
• Uses effective classroom management techniques.
• Follows school, district, state, and federal guidelines and policies.
• Attends staff meetings and reports on time.
• Keeps up to date on educational trends and completes records/reports.
• Shares ideas/materials with colleagues and participates on committees.
• Initiates parent/teacher conferences and school activities.
