Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a High School AIG Coordinator to ensure gifted learners receive equitable opportunities and high-quality instruction. The role analyzes data, collaborates with school teams, and supports staff in implementing MTSS and advanced learning pathways at the building level.

The coordinator will maintain an active caseload, align to district pacing, and guide families and students toward accelerated and rigorous pathways, with occasional evenings and weekends as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of experience as a general education teacher, special education teacher, counselor, psychologist, or social worker.
• Experience working with gifted learners.

Responsibilities

• Ensures policies, practices, and trends relating to gifted learners are implemented.
• Ensures gifted learners are included in MTSS.
• Navigates and communicates high school graduation requirements.
• Uses goal setting and progress monitoring data to evaluate how AIG students in the building are responding to instruction.
• Interprets and analyzes high school student performance data as it relates to AIG students.
• Collaborates regularly with IALS: Advanced Learning.
• Applies knowledge of district-adopted curriculum pacing and age-appropriate developmental expectations.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
