Position Summary

The Division Engineering Manager at Parker Aerospace, a segment of Parker Hannifin Corporation, leads and manages a major engineering division involved in research, product development, and multiple engineering programs. This role ensures that engineering objectives, contractual requirements, and customer expectations are met within scope, cost, and schedule constraints. Reporting to the Division General Manager, the manager oversees direct reports, possibly including expert engineers and global teams, and interacts regularly with multiple stakeholders including leadership, customers, and program management.

Essential Functions
  1. Provide strategic direction and manage engineering teams to align with the division’s goals. Identify future markets and define technology roadmaps to create competitive advantages.
  2. Lead product development, research activities, and the introduction of new technologies, interpreting complex technical requirements and overseeing design reviews.
  3. Ensure successful completion of project milestones in coordination with division leadership and program management, influencing high-level strategic decisions.
  4. Maintain influential customer contacts on technical issues and business opportunities, promoting Parker’s capabilities to attract new business.
  5. Coordinate processes and programs across functional areas, managing budgets and investments with significant impact on division costs.
  6. Plan long-term resources, including workforce planning and technology investments, in collaboration with division leadership.
  7. Assess workforce needs, review staffing plans, and advise on HR activities such as staffing, training, and compensation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science; Master’s or MBA preferred. Aerospace experience is required.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience with management of multiple engineering teams for at least 6 years.
  • Deep understanding of aerospace products, systems, and technologies, with a proven record of technology introduction and product commercialization.
  • Ability to communicate the business impact of engineering solutions and lead research and technology integration.
  • Strong leadership, strategic influence, and communication skills, capable of engaging with top management, customers, and external partners.
