Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a highly skilled Controller for its Construction division in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee all financial management, corporate accounting, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities include leading accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, AIA billing, and coordinating with external auditors. A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close.
  • Excellent SAP experience required.
  • Strong understanding of job costing and AIA billing.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to lead and supervise accounting teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting department operations and design structure to meet goals.
  • Manage daily accounting functions: AP/AR, cash receipts, GL, payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, asset activity.
  • Conduct complex financial analysis and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and internal controls.
  • Direct job costing and AIA billing processes for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Coordinate budget development, forecasts, and variances.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting preparation.
  • Collaborate with external auditors for timely audits.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller for our Construction division. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where you will play a critical role in driving the financial success of our company. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • 2. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
  • 3. Conducting complex financial analysis, preparing detailed reports and making recommendations based on findings.
  • 4. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • 5. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • 6. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • 7. Managing job costing and AIA billing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • 8. Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • 9. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • 10. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • 11. Working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely audit of the company's financial records.
Qualifications
  • 1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • 3. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • 4. Experience with creating financial statements.
  • 5. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • 6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills - SAP experience is a must.
  • 7. Strong understanding of job costing and AIA billing.
  • 8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • 9. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
  • 10. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • 11. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • 12. Ability to direct and supervise.
