Job summary

The University of New Mexico Department of Surgery seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Division Chief for Plastic Surgery, reporting to the Chair. The Chief will oversee clinical service, research, education, and mentorship while developing programs and expanding academic impact.

A BC/BE Plastic Surgeon with leadership, microsurgery expertise, and a focus on breast reconstruction is preferred; opportunities for joint appointment with Orthopaedic Surgery are available.

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible in Plastic Surgery.
• Medical Doctor licensed or eligible for NM licensure.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical service, patient care, research and scholarship, education and mentorship.
• Develop clinical programs and expand research in Plastic Surgery.
• Collaborate with the Chair; may have joint appointment with Orthopaedic Surgery on request.
• Recruit, develop and mentor faculty; advance academic mission.
