Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a dynamic Division Chief of Surgical Oncology to lead clinical, educational, and research efforts within the Division of Surgical Oncology. This role reports to the Chair of Surgery and collaborates with UNMH and the UNM School of Medicine to advance cancer care.

Ideal candidates will have a strong track record in leadership, research, and education, with fellowship training in Complex Surgical Oncology and eligibility for NM licensure.

Qualifications

Medical Doctor or equivalent with eligible licensure.
Board certified in General Surgery.
Graduate of accredited Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
Eligible for licensure in New Mexico.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Qualified for hire at Associate or Full Professor level.

Responsibilities

Strategic Growth: Support existing and expanding surgical oncology services and multidisciplinary clinics.
Faculty Mentorship: Support the professional development of junior and mid-career faculty.
Research Integration: Foster a culture of clinical trial enrollment and translational research.
Education: Oversee the surgical oncology training for residents and fellows within the Department of Surgery.
