Division CFO | Summit Healthcare Mgmt | Franklin, Tennessee

About the Job:

  • Remote based, requires travel in the Eastern US region
  • Must have at least 8 years of experience as a healthcare CFO

The Divisional CFO is responsible for the overall fiscal management of the facilities within the division, providing the financial and operational decision-making necessary for achieving the Division’s strategic, financial, and operational goals. This role involves analyzing, interpreting, and reporting financial information, supporting strategic planning and budgeting, evaluating alternative courses of action, and ensuring high-level revenue cycle operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements for the Division.
  • Visits assigned facilities to review financial operations and provides feedback and guidance to facility leadership and the Division President.
  • Provides requested financial information to the Division President and corporate staff.
  • Oversees the preparation of monthly forecasts, ensuring accuracy.
  • Assists in preparing corporate and divisional reports, including Monthly Operating Reports and forecasts.
  • Offers financial expertise in planning new services, including pro-forma preparation.
  • Ensures accounting and business office policies and internal controls are in place for a clean audit.
  • Participates in Monthly Operating Reviews with Summit Senior Management, providing insights for each facility.
  • Works with the Revenue Cycle Director to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable and minimized uncompensated care.
  • Ensures Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place and completed.
  • Maintains knowledge of reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and revenue deductions, and facilitates cost report preparation.
  • Monitors supply costs in line with group purchasing contracts.
  • Prepares annual operating budgets and participates in strategic planning, analyzing variances and implementing changes.
  • Provides financial leadership to the Division Vice President and facility CEOs.
  • Reviews managed care contracting to maximize net revenue, including in-network feasibility and rate negotiations.
  • Stays informed of healthcare industry trends to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Advises on staffing and productivity goals to ensure operational efficiency.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with a significant financial focus; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressive CFO experience in healthcare.
  • Behavioral healthcare experience and proprietary healthcare system experience are highly preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis, technical accounting, and finance skills.
  • Proficiency with IT and software such as Excel and Word.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: CPA preferred.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 5 years management experience in a healthcare setting.
