Division CFO | Summit Healthcare Mgmt | Franklin, Tennessee

About the Job:

*Remote based, requires travel in the Eastern US region

*Must have at least 8 years of experience as a healthcare CFO

The Divisional CFO is responsible for the overall fiscal management of the facilities within the division, providing the financial and operational decision-making necessary for achieving the Division’s strategic, financial, and operational goals. The role involves analyzing, interpreting, and reporting financial information, supporting strategic planning and budgeting, evaluating alternative courses of action, and ensuring high-level revenue cycle operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements for the Division.
  • Visit assigned facilities regularly to review financial operations and provide feedback and guidance to facility leadership and the Division President.
  • Provide requested financial information related to the Division’s operations to the Division President and corporate staff.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly forecasts, ensuring their accuracy and validity.
  • Assist in preparing corporate and divisional reports, including the Monthly Operating Report and forecasts, in a timely manner.
  • Offer financial expertise in planning new services, including the preparation of pro-formas.
  • Work with facilities to ensure all accounting policies and internal controls are in place to facilitate a clean audit with no material adjustments or deficiencies.
  • Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews with Summit Senior Management, providing explanations and insights for each facility.
  • Collaborate with the Director of the CBO to manage Revenue Cycle operations, ensuring timely collection of accounts receivable and minimizing uncompensated care.
  • Ensure Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place, including VOBs, Financial Counseling, and other financial documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and recording of revenue deductions, and facilitate the preparation of cost reports.
  • Monitor supply costs to ensure compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and budget targets.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and participate in strategic planning, analyzing variances and assisting in implementing necessary changes to meet budget goals.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to the Division Vice President and facility CEOs.
  • Review managed care contracting and business development activities to maximize net revenue, including evaluating in-network feasibility and negotiating rate increases.
  • Stay informed on healthcare industry trends and ensure facility compliance and preparedness.
  • Assist in staffing and productivity goal achievement for facilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with significant financial focus; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressive CFO experience in healthcare required.
  • Behavioral healthcare experience and experience with proprietary healthcare systems highly preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis, technical accounting, and finance skills.
  • Proficiency with IT and software such as Excel and Word.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

CPA preferred.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of five years management experience in healthcare required.
