Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Division Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial reporting for the division. You will manage general ledger, job cost, inventory, and related processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while upholding internal controls.

The role involves budgeting, forecasting, audits, and developing accounting staff, with travel as needed and a focus on process improvement and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Four to six years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new programs quickly.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage division accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, job cost, inventory accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and related financial processes.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Analyze division financial results and identify significant trends, variances, or issues.
• Maintain division accounting procedures and internal controls in compliance with GAAP.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with financial schedules and analyses.
• Assist with audits and provide schedules and documentation as needed.
• Supervise and develop assigned accounting staff.
