Job summary

CPS seeks a Diverse Learners Teacher in Chicago to support students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to plan instructional and social supports aligned with IEP guidelines.

A bachelor’s degree and a valid Illinois teaching license endorsed in LBS1 are required. You will contribute to an equitable, inclusive classroom that reflects the district’s commitment to high expectations, safety, and student development toward

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
Valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with LBS1 endorsement.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to determine instructional and social needs of students.
Set goals for IEPs that are achievable and comparable to peers per Illinois guidelines.
Demonstrate deep content knowledge and design coherent instruction and assessments.
Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors.
Prioritize student safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct.
Personalize learning through curriculum supplements and technology resources; advocate for equity and high expectations.
