Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Diverse Learners Teacher to support students with varied learning needs in Chicago classrooms. Under principal supervision, you will deliver instruction, track progress, and manage classroom behavior to promote college, career, and civic readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures that celebrates student diversity.
• Respond to student needs by designing engaging instruction with appropriately challenging questions and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit strong communication and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through the School Code of Conduct and district discipline systems.
• Personalize student learning through curriculum supplements and technology resources.
• Advocate for equity, high expectations, and developmentally appropriate practices for all students.
