Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Diverse Learners Teacher to instruct, monitor progress, and manage classrooms under the principal’s supervision. The role requires collaboration with case managers, counselors, and general educators to meet students’ instructional and social needs.

The candidate must hold a valid Illinois teaching license with the appropriate endorsement (LBS1) and possess a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
• Illinois State Board license with appropriate endorsement(s) required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design objectives and assessments.
• Establish a respectful classroom culture with strong management and inclusivity for diverse students.
• Design engaging instruction and assessments aligned to student needs and IEP guidelines.
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication with staff, families, and administration.
• Prioritize student safety by implementing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Personalize learning using curriculum supplements and technology resources.
• Advocate for equity, high expectations, and developmental appropriateness for all students.
