Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Diverse Learners Teacher to support students with a range of needs. You will deliver targeted instruction, track progress, and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom aligned with CPS instructional standards.

The role requires collaboration with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to ensure equitable access to learning and effective IEP goal setting.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students with diverse learning needs and monitor progress, tracking, and discipline.
• Set goals for individualized education plans (IEPs) according to Illinois guidelines.
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to determine instructional and social needs.
• Design coherent instruction and assessments aligned to content objectives.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management and promote diversity.
• Prioritize student safety and equity in all instructional activities.
