Job summary

Divers Direct is seeking an energetic, passionate, customer-focused individual to join our team. This role involves generating sales of destination, enhancement, and lifestyle products by providing superior customer service and education, while participating in the ongoing operation and maintenance of a call center and retail environment.

The position requires experience in customer service, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work a flexible retail schedule across both store

Qualifications

• Previous Customer Service experience; six (6) months sales or related experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers and vendors.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by retail needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service on both the sales floor as a sales associate and in the customer service department via phone and email.
• Respond to customer inquiries, phone calls, messages, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Generate sales of all product categories
• Maintain updated product knowledge
• Complete sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities
• Coordinate product exchange and transfers
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining the orderly appearance of the call center and store
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices
• Other tasks as assigned by the Customer Service Manager or designee

Summary:

The sales associate / customer service representative is responsible for generating sales of destination, enhancement, and lifestyle products by providing superior customer service and customer education; participating in all activities related to the ongoing operation and maintenance of a call center and retail environment.

Duties / Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent customer service on both the sales floor as a sales associate and in the customer service department via phone and email.
• Respond to customer inquiries, phone calls, messages, and emails in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous Customer Service experience; six (6) months sales or related experience preferred
• Certified Scuba Diver or Dive Instructor highly desirable. If not currently certified, must complete at least the academic requirements of a scuba course within the first 90 days of employment
• A combination of education, certifications, and work experience may be qualifying
• Overall understanding of personal computer operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers and vendors
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by retail needs

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extensive periods of time
• Ability to read, write, count, and do basic arithmetic
• Ability to access all areas of the call center and store
• Ability to bend and squat
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
