Job summary

Quabbin Regional School District seeks a full-time English Learner Teacher to provide English language development instruction to multilingual learners across PreK–12, with regular travel between school buildings.

The role requires MA DESE ESL licensure, knowledge of WIDA standards, collaboration with teachers, and support for testing accommodations and reclassification in line with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE educator license in English as a Second Language (ESL).
• Knowledge of English language development instruction, WIDA standards, and state assessment requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel between district schools.
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct English language development instruction based on students' proficiency levels and needs.
• Assess students' English language proficiency and instructional needs to determine services.
• Administer language proficiency assessments, including WIDA Screener and ACCESS for ELLs.
• Coordinate and support state testing requirements for EL students, including MCAS accommodations.
• Monitor student progress, document progress, and use data to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to support achievement and access to curriculum.
• Support identification, placement, monitoring, and reclassification of EL students per requirements.
