Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Before and After School Leader to support the program director in planning and implementing high-quality child care services in Denver, Colorado. You will engage with children, staff, and families to promote a positive learning environment and community relations.

The role requires enforcing licensing standards, supervising daily activities, and contributing to lesson planning, program enrichment, and safety.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Leader must be 18 years or older.
• Must have at least one qualification: 3 months of caregiver supervision experience or an Early Childhood Credential Level I (VC3).
• Annual training: at least 15 clock hours (June 1–May 31).
• Knowledge of childcare practices and safety.
• Ability to develop and apply appropriate discipline procedures.
• Some leadership and management skill.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces Colorado licensing requirements; daily tasks.
• Supervises students and engages with them during program hours.
• Communicates effectively with parents, students, staff, and community.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the before/after care program.
• Attends professional development trainings as required.
• Assists in implementing quality lesson plans and daily activities.
• Aids in equipment maintenance and storage.
• Contributes enrichment ideas and program quality improvements.
• Plans and executes activities and field trips for full-day programming.
• Attends monthly staff meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
