Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking a District Wholesale Manager in the United States to direct vehicle sales across channels within the assigned area.

You will coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain and National Car Sales to optimize pricing, manage auctions, monitor inventory, and ensure timely payments while maintaining strong relationships with buyers and vendors. Travel up to 40% is expected.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• Experience in wholesale vehicle sales and familiarity with wholesale vehicle auction process strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with rental car or other fleet organizations preferred.
• Excellent communication and creative issue resolution skills.
• Ability to successfully interact with vendors, customers and internal employees.
• Strong Excel skills and computer proficiency.
• Good negotiation skills and ability to work with urgency.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities.
• Experience with AutoIMS preferred.
• Travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Directs sales of vehicles through all available channels within assigned area.
• Coordinates and provides guidance to Ops Sales & Supply Chain for right-car-right-place placement of sale vehicles at auctions or other channels.
• Attends auctions to sell cars, monitor market conditions and maintain inventory levels.
• Manages promotional sales events at various locations to optimize vehicle values.
• Coordinates with National Car Sales Team to adjust pricing when needed.
• Analyzes competitive sales and pricing data.
• Monitors pricing for off-rent vehicles, damaged/wrecked vehicles, commercial truck inventory and other sale-eligible inventory.
• Maintains positive relationships with auctions and potential buyers in the region.
• Tracks payments from all sales to ensure timely proceeds receipt.
• Monitors inventory levels and holds selling locations accountable for ABG inventory.
• Enforces and revises established vehicle sales policies as required.
• Negotiates sale, transport and repair fees with various vendors.
