Job summary

Fairfield County Educational Service Center seeks a qualified leader to direct student services programs, including special education, preschool, and 504 accommodations, across assigned districts.

You will provide direction and organizational structure for staff, ensure compliance with federal and state laws, collaborate with elementary principals, supervise administrators and counselors, and lead reporting, training, and policy development to support students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Hold an Ohio Special Education Teacher's Certificate in at least one area of students with disabilities.
• Hold an educational administrative specialist, principal, or supervisor certificate.
• Have three years of teaching experience in special education.
• Supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Google Apps for Education.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Submit an acceptable background check as requested.
• Think critically and find solutions to new problems.
• Communicate effectively using up-to-date technology.

Responsibilities

• Assists with programs in special education, preschool, and 504 coverage.
• Collaborates on delivery and improvement of special education programs.
• Coordinates student services to support district programs.
• Consults with elementary principal on program implementation.
• Assists with mandated reports to the Ohio Department of Education.
• Interprets district policies for students with disabilities.
• Leads administrators and staff in Federal and Ohio rules for educating students with disabilities.
• Guides RTI and MTSS implementation.
• Provides leadership to administrators, school counselors, and staff.
• Involves in placement decisions for students with disabilities.
• Develops district-wide policies for special education and student services.
• Maintains complete student records for special education.
• Recommends supplies and curriculum for special education, preschool, and ELL staff.
• Advises personnel on rules relating to special education, 504, and preschool.
• Ensures EMIS data reporting accuracy.
• Maintains professional rapport with coworkers and students.
• Communicates effectively with supervisor.
• Ensures student safety and positive public relations.
• Serves as role model for students.
• Provides internal and external reports and presentations as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality of records and information.
• Completes district training requirements timely.
• Complies with Board of Education policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
