Job summary

Unionville-Chadds Ford School District seeks a Supervisor of Elementary Special Education to provide leadership and oversight for all elementary SPED programs. This administrative role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports IEP development and monitoring, and promotes best practices for students with disabilities and their families within the district.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
PA Supervisor of Special Education certification or Principal K-12 required.
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a special education teacher at the elementary level.
Demonstrated leadership experience in special education.
Comprehensive knowledge of IDEA and state regs governing SPED.
Experience in IEP development, implementation, and monitoring.
Strong understanding of elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Experience with transition planning for elementary students with disabilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for comprehensive SPED services at the elementary level.
Ensure alignment with district goals and instructional initiatives.
Develop procedures for identification, evaluation, IEP development, placement, and transition planning.
Monitor IEPs, GIEPS, and 504 Service Agreements for fidelity.
Oversee related services (speech, OT/PT, counseling) at elementary level.
Manage and allocate resources for SPED programs and staff.
Supervise and evaluate elementary SPED staff and paraprofessionals.
Facilitate IEP meetings, mediations, and due process as needed.
Collaborate with Director of Pupil Services on reporting requirements.
Coordinate ESY activities and transportation; supervise daily operations.
