Job summary

Long Beach Unified School District is seeking security personnel to patrol district properties, respond to emergencies, and enforce laws and regulations. You will monitor access, deter vandalism, inspect safety systems and assist with crowd control at events.

Ideal candidates have high school completion and relevant security certifications, with strong communication, judgment and report-writing skills. Evening, weekend and graveyard shifts are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice desirable.
• Possession of PC 832 Arrest and Firearms Certification or equivalent BSIS certifications.
• Valid California Security Guard Registration Card with Exposed Firearm Permit.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor district properties to deter vandalism, illegal entry, fire and theft.
• Respond to emergencies and dispatcher calls; assist with traffic and crowd control.
• Inspect doors, windows, alarms and safety systems; report hazards and malfunctions.
• Administer first aid as needed and maintain accurate incident records.
