Job summary

Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Services Coordinator in Alexandria, VA to support the Director and Assistant Director in nutrition program operations. The role covers menu development, nutrition analysis, compliance with NSLP/USDA programs, and marketing of school meals, with emphasis on education and community partnerships.

The position is a 12-month, 240-day support role reporting to the School Nutrition Leadership, requiring RD status, strong communication skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Management, Dietetics, or related field.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist required; SNA certification and/or SNS credentials preferred.
• Serve Safe Certification within 90 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/menu development and nutrition analyses to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Develop menus for different grade levels and coordinate with SNS Executive Chef.
• Lead marketing and nutrition education efforts for student engagement.
• Assist with procurement and allergy/medical dietary accommodations.
• Provide training and support for didactic intern rotations.
