Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a district-wide project controls leader to guide scheduling, budgeting, and change-order analysis for construction management teams. You will compare planned schedules with field results, support post-award cost estimation, and help drive CQIP and environmental compliance goals.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, engineering management, project data evaluation, contract administration, quality assurance, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Budgetary experience related to monitoring expenses and budgets.
• Experience applying methods of quality assurance and control, CPM scheduling, claims avoidance, cost estimating and contract administration.
• Experience interpreting contracts, specifications and designing and constructability reviews.
• Experience developing and monitoring construction schedules and preparing detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Budget oversight for assigned programs and projects and ensuring expenditures stay within allocations.
• Lead team and develop policies, procedures and practices in management of the engineering program area.
• Evaluate project data by reviewing management and financial tracking software and resolving discrepancies.
• Identify design and construction issues and provide improvements and technical guidance to contractors and engineers.
• Lead quality assurance and control activities, develop CEI budgets, and monitor construction schedules.
